"Arte Izquierda" exists since November 2006. The name was chosen after both musicians discovered the same left-handedness during a lecture about history of music with Prof. Dr. Hesse. Esch and Salzmann strive to enlarge the literature about mandolin or mandola and guitar in cooperation with various composers. Both are devotes to the research of already existing compositions and their authentic performance. A further musical emphasis of the duo lies in the entertainment music. In this area the repertoire is enlarged continuously. This intensive occupation with the early music, the music after 1900 and the entertainment music is reflected in their programs. "Arte Izquierda" offers varied concerts and does not hesitate to use various instruments or to invite soloists like soprano singer Eva-Maria Michaelis. Translation - Julia Gutsche
